Thank You

The word “hero” is bandied about quite liberally these days. But this morning our city and the nation are paying tribute to two true heroes. These two brave men lost their lives in a horrific house fire ten days ago. My thoughts are with their families this morning, as well as their colleagues. Most especially the four firefighters who were also injured in the blaze. It’s quite rare for firefighters to die in the line of duty these days, so we probably don’t give as much thought as we should to what these brave men and women do for us every single day. Until we get a tragic reminder of this nature.

So, today, I want to publicly declare my respect and admiration for all emergency workers, who put their lives on the line for us each and every day. Firefighters, paramedics, police officers, etc. – you’re all heroes in the true sense of the word. Thank you.
