  1. I don't think we'll ever realise the extent of what that generation gave up for us. The children who never knew their dad's, the women who lost their sons and sweethearts and not forgetting the horror and fear the men must have felt going into battle. Let us also remember the horses who were killed in their thousands on the battle fields.
