Stephanie’s Hardcore Chocolate Kahlua Brownies™;

Behold, my coveted recipe. Use it wisely (i.e. onlyforevilorsexplzkthx).

1 cup butter or margarine
3/4 cup cocoa
1 oz Kahlua liquor (or like, some coffee)

4 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
2 cups granulated sugar
1 1/2 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt

Some chocolate chips, walnuts, and icing sugar to sprinkle on top.

In small saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add cocoa and Kahlua, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat.

In a large bowl, beat together eggs and vanilla until frothy. Add sugar, flour, salt, and cocoa mixture. Stir and fold until smooth.

Pour batter into a greased pan (16×16 inch or something similar should work). Sprinkle with chocolate chips and walnuts. Bake in preheated 350ºF (180ºC) oven for around 40 minutes, or until edges pull away from the pan and a toothpick comes out clean.

Let brownies cool, then sprinkle with icing sugar and enjoy!

  1. I shall copy it now and print it off so the ingredients can go on the next grocery list (anyting we don't already have… hmm, that would be the Kahlua).

  2. The Kahlua does add a nice kick, but you could probably use some other favourite liqueur, or just skip it altogether. Just depends on your tastes. Being a hazelnut freak, I'm going to try these with Frangelico liqueur at some point.

  3. Oh my lord! Kahlua is one of my favourite drinks…which suggests that I may just LIKE these Brownies! 😀 Will print off the recipe now and give them a whirl next time I'm in a baking mood.Hmmm, I hope I don't eat them ALL myself. *hic*

  4. Calm down, Leigh. It's only an ounce in a full-sized cake, so it's highly unlikely that you're going to feel any effect. 🙂 I meant flavour kick, not the other kind!! But of course there's nothing that says that you have to stop at a mere ounce …
